Hi Glenn,
Brilliant news, glad to know (hopefully) it may be a painless exerciser.
I am totally over Australia Post, I sent a parcel from Perth to Darwin a few weeks back, it took 14 Days.
My Shake took 24hrs to fly from US to Melbourne, and it will take 7 days to get to Tassie, If I had known that I could have Driven from home here to Melbourne / on ferry and back in less than 2 Days.

Any way, looking forward to it's arrival (next week) at this stage and to your's coming online as well.

Kind regards,

My 4D shake has finally Shipped   ;D , though estimated arrival not until 2018/05/28   :(

Glenn, how have you progressed with yours.

Kind regards,

I still haven't found my cases, but I decided I'd make a start anyway.

I burnt an image to an SDCard, dug out an old pi and connected the geophone to the daughterboard and attached it all to the pi. Connected it up to the network and applied power. It booted up and viola! It went so smoothly it was almost a letdown. :-)

I'd have left it running as is but it was a little too active just sitting on the desk here, so I've turned it off for the moment .  I did get an email from shakeHQ asking where it had gone, so they noticed its absence. They are right on the ball it seems which is encouraging.

I'll make another effort to find the lost cases and move it all out to the garage, hopefully RealSoon.

cheers
 Glenn

General Discussion / WxSim Forecast vs Actual.
« Last post by hrvistaweather on May 05, 2018, 06:30:27 PM »
Hi been playing around with my WxSim Forecast vs Actual data.
I push the latest.csv into mysql and have created a heap of views/scripts to display it.
Still toying with concepts and display and a lot more code tidying to do when finalised.
Still have to create Hi/Low Delta charts too.
Anyway thought I'd share what I have so far, not much time for more context, so hopefully the charts explain themselves.

Highstock version on my main Saratoga Template:  https://southfranklinweather.com/weather/index.php
Highstock version same as above just stand alone: https://southfranklinweather.com/weather/realtime_graphs_wxsim_vp.php
Highcharts version :  https://southfranklinweather.com/weather/realtime_graphs_wxsim_Act_WX.php

I see poor Hawaii have some trouble  :'(

Hi Steve,
Yes I bet, also WA been hammered again of late. 3.2s at times.

Hi Glenn,
Sadly I do not have the time nor equipment to build one so had to go for prebuilt 4D which originally stated 2 weeks delivery (now looking like May or even June.  :'(

I'll look forward to seeing your shake come online.

The Blitzortung page is only there for display, I ran a Boltek LD250 onsite for years, though when I had to move the station PC's etc 70 metres way into my shed/office I decided to put the old LD250 (which still works) into the linen closet where it still resides. I doubt I'll fire it up again.

Back then I also forked out for a microsferics.com mLDN TOA, but later they said there where not enough users in Australia for the Network to triangulate efficiently, so that wasted money also sits in the linen closet. I should put them on ebay !

mm Just after I posted the above message another SE of Broome, WA popped up for wa : Solution Reviewd already also.

I saw that there was an Earthquake reported just outside of Bathurst on Anzac Day.
Magnitude 2.6 Pretty small compared to the ones I used to experience back in New Zealand.

Received my 1D a week ago.
It's still in the shrink wrap and I need to put it all together. It's just the board and the sensor. I have an abundance of idle pi's around here and figure there'll be a suitable case for it all once I find where I so carefully put them!

On a semi-related note (gadgets...) You have a blitzortung detector? I see you have a link to their stats page.

Last night we had our closest Earthquake thus far.
originally reported as 1.7 mag at 0 Depth and Distance from our station was 6.9 km.
After Geoscience did their Solution Review, ended up being 1.4 mag at 10 km Depth and Distance from our station 10.11 km.

I've added new scripts using MySql / PHP / Crons etc to display not only all quakes which I already had, but also now on my index page I display nearby Quakes if they occur automatically scripted.

More info on my site : https://southfranklinweather.com/weather/wxnews.php

I am currently waiting for my new purchase $620.00 for a Raspberry Shake 4D (may take 2 weeks to arrive) can't wait to get it up and running, any one else using one ?

Saratoga Template / End user feedback on recent website modifications.
« Last post by hrvistaweather on February 16, 2018, 06:32:11 PM »
Hi,
My Saratoga Template over the years has been heavily modified in order to cater for Australian/Tasmanian based display.
Reason being most current templates only cater for Europe/US etc, so from a Radar/Synop/Fire/Warnings/Alerts/Advisories/Earthquakes/etc...etc. point I have had to script my own.
Over time they have resulted in my main Index page becoming slow to load, hung on start while accessing the multiple Alert/Warning/etc. checks I had included over time.
So today set about doing a first pass major cleanup, and although I still have a couple of unresolved ones, which I will eventually fix, I was hoping to get some feedback from any of you with regards the now current index page load from a user point of view.
If you could take the time and have a view and give your feedback via post, it would be greatly appreciated.
